About The Artist

Hello, my name is Douglas R. Theus. I'm a native Houstonian. Yep, born & raised right here in the great state of Texas. And as far as I can remember, I’ve always taken a great interest in art. Drawing, sketching, painting, map pencils, watercolor, etc.

Around the age of 15, my mother knew how happily focused I became when engaging in the arts and she wanted to help feed & fuel my fascination by doing what she knew best. She enrolled me into The Art Instruction School in Minneapolis, Minnesota where I delved deeper into my studies, as well as having a professional art instructor to coach me along the way.

After attending The Art Instruction School for several years, I took a break from the arts and attended ITT Technical Institute in Houston, Texas where I earned a degree in Information Technology & Computer Networking Systems Technology. But being careful not to stray too far away from my first love, I made sure to keep her close by and made Contemporary Art, one of my courses.

Fast forward to today. That very same intriguing fascination is still there and has peaked in my love and passion for the Graphic Arts, which I pour every bit of myself into, daily. And that daily passion has evolved into an obsession for greatness.

I used to always say “I just want to be as good as...”. Well, I no longer “Just want to be as good as...”

I want to be the best.
